STATISTICS
Character Name: Petre Dodrescu.
Character Canon: Original character.
Character Age: Somewhere in his early 30s. He doesn't keep track.
Canon Point: Currently helping Vaerqui reshape humans.
Link to History: Link. Part I has information about the universe, part II is Petre pre-transformation, part III is post.
Skills: Despite having lost memory of the majority of his life, Petre retained knowledge of Romanian (native language), English, Portuguese and Cantonese. Hand-to-hand combat. General knowledge of firearms and bladed weapons. A decent idea of human anatomy for dietary reasons (and sometimes torture). Is manipulative and a unique flavor of charismatic in his own right. Will adapt to foster relationships with anyone of interest, but will just as easily think it's just better or more fun to push them into antagonistic ones.
Abilities:
As a Reshaped, Petre's been given abilities passed down from the goddess Ihutne:
Impel. (CW: Mind control, sort of.) Influencing people by tapping into their darker tendencies. If you've had thoughts of hurting someone who wronged you, he uses a soft version of mind-control to enable you to follow through. Think of it as swearing off sugar and being handed a bag of your favorite candy, then apply it to any morally questionable urges. He can't force you to do anything you don't want to, the idea is to grow a seed that already there, depending on how open the individual is open to it. Petre is also heavily compelled to feed these urges himself.
∙ Altered biology. He doesn't get sick, is immune to extreme heat and fire, has enhanced strength (just enough to fight off a small group of capable individuals) and stamina, can recover from deadly wounds and regrow limbs, can change his teeth to fangs and nails to claws.
∙ Fire and heat. Can create the sensory illusion that you're burning through physical touch. He generates fire from any part of his body, which also means he can burn virtually anything through touch.
WEAKNESSES
∙ Biology The other side of the coin to Petre's biology is that he requires occasional consumption human flesh, or run the risk of being severely weakened over time. In addition to this he also starts to lose a sense of self and humanity with a tendency to lose his temper more often and resort to violence. As per the game's rules, this need will disappear.
∙ Divinity. Because the goddess Ihutne is in direct conflict with the remainder of her family, they've made arrangements with their abilities, as well as other pantheons, to diminish her power in the human world. Petre started out as a human, but as a Reshaped he loses a significant amount of power when confronted with people who are either gods, or backed up by gods of their own. From a simple nosebleed to being so incapacitated that he can barely crawl, he knows better than to get into direct confrontation with these guys.
Curse Mark: Diabel, mark under his tongue.

CHARACTERIZATION
FORMATIVE EXPERIENCES: Because Petre has no memory of the first 18 years of his life, all formative experiences take place after being Reshaped.
PHILOSOPHY: Petre follows Vaerqui's main philosophy of corruption, bad behavior and dark impulses. Petre thinks these are the best things humanity has to offer because they're what he relishes in. His loyalty belongs to his creator and her creator, though he's never met the latter and attributes his full devotion to the former. Feelings are malleable, things that can be mirrored and manipulated; life's a party and negative consequences have never stopped him before. His altered biology has also encouraged this belief, knowing that if he gets beaten up or even suffers lethal injuries, there's nothing he can't bounce back from. One phrase to illustrate how he views connections is don't tell me what to do. He'll say it both seriously and in jest, but it helps sum up what he thinks of everyone and anyone who doesn't have power over him: they're just passing by, regardless of their level of authority with anyone else.
DESIRES: Petre wants to indulge in the immoral by his society's standards, from sex to luxury and violence. He wants to get attention, be it good or bad, he wants to be physically desired and wants people to know who he is. This endless supply of decadence falls in line with his purpose of priming individuals to be Reshaped by Vaerqui, but he'd engage in the exact same behavior regardless of her presence. His ultimate desire is to get her approval, but in her absence, he easily adapts to follow his own whims. He wants people to know who he is and to get some type of reaction from him, but also won't be tied down to anyone. He believes that he'll be invincible for as long as he's independent. Being bound to serve the goddess Ihutne is just a technicality, and Vaerqui also doesn't count because he likes her and believes she likes him back, in her own fucked up way.
FEARS: Petre's more of a well, shit type of guy with some cringing on top, though he's been known to feel desperate in extreme cases, especially at the prospect of being locked up or forced to do something he doesn't want to.When all else fails, just resort to violence. Being targeted by the divine, be they servants or the gods themselves, might be a genuine fear, but it's also one he won't admit to. Not even to himself.
The real fear he has is of disappointing Vaerqui, not because of the punishments that come after, but from his sense of loyalty and wanting her attention. She is his North Star. What she says he does. He likes to be useful to her, and if one day she decides he's no longer apt to serve his purpose, chances are it'll destroy him, if she doesn't do so herself.
- Rebirth. - When he first woke up, all wounds and burns pristinely absent from his skin, Vaerqui was the first person he saw, and as far as he's concerned, she's the only one who's mattered ever since. His behavior was erratic in the beginning, having to learn to adapt to his new impulses after being Reshaped as well as distinguishing the things he already had from the ones that surfaced after being Reshaped. Vaerqui groomed him for some time as they traveled the world together, enabling his tendencies when they suited their mission, punishing him when they didn't. To Petre their relationship goes beyond family or love — neither romantic nor physical, but something even more unbreakable than that. Like she's a part of him as much as he believes to be a part of her.
- Meeting Caleb Waters. - It was only a few months into following her every word that he was allowed to set off on his own in Canada, where he met a man called Caleb Waters. This was when he learned how to seduce, manipulate and enable someone's darker instinct. Petre came to know what it was like to get someone's undivided attention and was immediately hooked. Caleb enabled Petre as much as he was enabled, probably without even knowing it; the man mistook Petre's advances — and what grew into an obsession — for genuine feelings, while Petre simply picked up ways to mirror his behavior. This was mainly how Petre discovered that people could be easily manipulated, as well as the pleasure he could take from sex and getting attention, good or bad.
- Encounter with the divine. - (CW: Cannibalism.) When Petre discovered that Caleb had broken out of their toxic cycle and promised himself to the Christian God, he killed and consumed most of his flesh to make sure he'd never be found. People are still looking for a man who would never know what he'd done to deserve such a miserable end. This was one more lesson for Petre, and a confirmation of what Vaerqui had reinforced throughout the years: that they could only trust each other. No one else mattered.

GAMEPLAY
SUITABILITY: Petre has no issues giving in to impulses for violence or sex. He's hardly ever picky about his partners and/or victims. He's comfortable with gore, knows how to fight for his survival and lacks empathy for anyone who gets in the way. Being a Reshaped transformation only affected his teeth and claws, so a more extreme transformation and potential loss of control would be new territory for him, either forcing him to confront some harsh realities or choosing to give in to them. The limitations of being in this world and having to follow its laws, while it won't completely clip his wings, is an uncomfortable situation he'll have to adapt to in some ways. Eventually. Petre needs to be taught a lesson or ten.
SAMPLE: Link. CW: Mention of past physical abuse.
MONSTER:
Visual references: Face, body, limbs and appendages (four arms, altered legs, grows a tail).
Description:
∙ Face. A cut goes right down the middle of his face; the skin parts in two halves to reveal a thinner, deep red layer over his skull without cartilage. All of his teeth are sharper and his eyes become fully black.
∙ Body. Similarly to his face, the line continues down the chest and stops just above the groin. This line on his chest and abdomen rip apart like a mouth that had been melted shut before, fangs going down each half at uneven intervals and varying sizes. Despite revealing the interior of his body, his organs are absent in order to make room for whatever his body bites into.
∙ Arms and legs. Petre has four arms when he's transformed, claws at the tips of his fingers. His legs take after the shape of a theropod's foot, if it had two toes. Along his arms and legs are various lines that can split apart like his middle, revealing smaller sets of teeth.
∙ Tail. The tail reaches the floor, wide (about 30cm) and heavy. It does not have any of the lines on the rest of his body and has a deep red color.
